Programmed is looking for Chef and Catering Assistants to join one of well-known aviation catering service providers, working across Cold/Hot Kitchen, Make & Pack and Wash & Pack department in Mascot Sydney.

Chef - Cold Kitchen/Hot Kitchen

Shift: Morning shift 7am - 3pm, Payrate: $36.93 p/h for AM shift

Afternoon shift 2pm - 10pm , Payrate: $41.36 p/h for PM shift

  • Your duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Central Dish Assembling as per approved recipe for economic/business/first class
  • Cooking for Airline First Class and Business class's appetizer
  • Cold Dish assembling, fruit portioning, cheese cutting, garnish prep
  • Special meal prep, VIP charter prep and packing, etc

Make N Pack Department

Shift : Morning shift 6am - 2pm, payrate : $34.86 p/h

Shift : Afternoon shift 3pm - 11pm , Payrate: $37.91 p/h for PM shift

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Portioning and packaging meals according to specifications.
  • Measuring quantities of food items according to specifications.
  • General kitchen duties as required.
  • Ensure all food items are properly handled, stored, and labeled
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Able to work in fast paced environment

Knife Hand/Chef Assistant

Shift: Morning shift 7am - 3pm, Payrate: $34.86 p/h for AM shift

Afternoon shift 2pm - 10pm , Payrate: $37.91 p/h for PM shift

  • Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
  • General kitchen duties
  • Handling knife, cutting, chopping food ingredients in bulk
  • Helping Chef for meal preparation when required

Wash and Pack Department

Morning shift 7am -3pm, $34.86 per hour

Afternoon shift 3pm - 11pm, $39.05 per hour

  • Load cutlery /crockery into the washing line (machine operated)
  • Unload clean cutlery /crockery from washing line and pack into airline trays/carts according to airline's specifications
  • Pack napkins, tablecloths and other napery as required
  • Working in the team environment

Requirement

  • For Chef role, must have min Certificate III in commercial cookery
  • For knife hand, require previous knife handling experience in kitchen
  • Available to work a 5-day roster (including public holidays, weekends, and morning or afternoon shifts).
  • Full Australian working rights without hours limit and able to work through December /January
  • Good English language skills, must be able to read, speak and understand English
  • Previous experience in food preparation, production line or catering are high regarded
  • comfortable to lift up to 20kg when required
